The Skilled Workman name from Exodus 31: 1-6 where God anointed several people for creativity and skill. The Hebrew used means skilled workman. God actually called and anointed people to produce the tabernacle in the wilderness.
“Now the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: See, I have called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah. I have filled him with the Spirit of God in wisdom, in understanding, in knowledge, and in all manner of craftsmanship to devise artistic works for work with gold, with silver, and with bronze, and in the cutting of stones for settings, and in carving of wood, to work in all manner of craftsmanship. I, indeed, I have given him Oholiab, the son of Ahisamak, of the tribe of Dan, and I have given skill to all who are specially skilled, that they may make everything that I have commanded you:” [Exodus 31:1-6 MEV]
As I have written many times, I have experienced the Lord’s anointing many times as I sought creative answers for clients, and for my projects. Any good writing in my spirit-filled fiction comes from the Holy Spirit. It’s part of the joy of writing for the Lord. It’s a major part of who the Lord is.
I needed a good name for the blog, and Skilled Workman from Exodus did it for me
I have no doubt that the tabernacle in the wilderness was spectacularly beautiful. I’m grateful that the Lord showed us how highly He puts creative skills. I’ve often wondered how we’ll use these skills during the millennium and in the recreation of everything after the millennium. As I’ve said before, maybe I’ll get a chance to help terraform a planet or something.
Regardless, if you’re a believer, you’ll be extremely pleased if you ask Jesus to help you design that next project—especially if it is for the Kingdom.
