A recreated believer is required
A recreated believer is required to enter the Kingdom. It’s your ticket to get out of here. This is how you are introduced to the King. And you certainly do not want to hear, “Who are you? I never knew you,” on that day.
The trick is that like all things created by the Lord, your rebirth from God will be highly individualized. There is no set way.
For me, it is obvious that you must be enraged at the lies you were taught in high school about how the world worked. Then you need to get worked over by the military mind, saying you had no need to know. Just obey.
It was so bad that you gave up and dropped out, then dropped a lot of high quality LSD to get enlightened. Plus smoked bags of pot, until you basically destroyed the brain you had been given. You start searching for truth in the occult, everything you can find, for years.
Finally, exhausting everything you knew to do—and that was considerable, you called your father on his birthday and told him, “I need to be filled with the spirit.” He takes you to a Roman Catholic prayer group and they get you to renounce the world, the flesh, and the devil. Then they ask if you accept Jesus as Lord. When you agree to check it out, they lay hands on you to be baptized with the Holy Spirit.
Nothing happened, but they told you that you had done everything required, and that it had worked, and that you’d see it work out over the next days and months. Your father took you home, dropping you off at your storefront studio—unsupervised and still stoned out of your mind.
And it worked just like they said! You will never have any kind of emotional experience.
So, obviously it has to be done that way. That’s how it happened to me on January 15, 1974.
However, going through something like that is more likely to work than saying a sinner’s prayer out of the blue, without any followup.
The formula is quite simple. Somehow you need to realize all your sin and repent of it. You need to ask Jesus to forgive you. You must realize who Jesus is—the Lord of Lords and King of Kings. You need to ask him to come inside you, by His Holy Spirit. And then the Father will recreate you.
But being a recreated believer is required to get in the Kingdom
It is all between you and Jesus, a personal interaction between the two of you. It will be uniquely tailored by the One who created you to meet your personal needs. The best way is for you to ask, out loud, “Jesus, how do I get reborn?” It does not tell you how in the Bible.
Peter told the crowd when they asked on the day of Pentecost, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” I’ve never known anyone who did it that way.
But I do know that if you ask Jesus how to get reborn, He will get it done for you. Truly.
