Yes, study last days prophecy as if your life depended on it—because it does. Because, all prophecy teaching is speculating. I know my teachings on the subject are impeccably researched, prayed over intensely, and convince me of their accuracy.

But that is true for all who teach these things. The Lord told me in the late 1990s that no one has it figured out. There’s a reason why no two prophecy teachers agree completely. Because God’s ways are higher than our ways.

However, you need to study it also. For your beliefs will come up against reality in a very short time. If you go through the seven-year tribulation because you never bothered to find out if the Rapture is an accurate teaching, it’s all on you.

There are some major things you must do. If you do not, you can easily find yourself in the midst of the horrors of the last seven years.

• You must be born again: This one is not negotiable. Read John 3 to find out what Jesus said about this requirement. He told us that we cannot even see the Kingdom of God unless we are reborn—from God. Nobody is born a Christian. This is a transaction between you and the Lord. There is a simple solution. Ask Jesus if you are. “Jesus, please tell me if I am born again.” The fact that you do not know if you are means you are probably not. Jesus will show you what to do if you ask Him, personally.
• You must know Him: This word know, used throughout the New Testament, means a close, intimate relationship. It’s so important that Jesus, in His priestly prayer of John 17, said, “This is eternal life: that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent.” [John 17:3 most versions] The word know carries with it the idea of sexual relations, or marital intimacy. We are Jesus’ betrothed. We need to know Him. I wrote a whole book on it {The Wife of Jesus}.
• You probably must be eagerly waiting for His coming: This may not be an absolute requirement, but most verses which talk about this upcoming event mention our eagerness.
