Truly, increasing the Bride or saving America matters
Truly, increasing the Bride or saving America is our question. But America, as we know it, is not going to survive. The end of the age is here. We are in prophetic times — Bible times, again.
Just recently, there was a major tent revival halfway between where I live in Rochester, New York and Buffalo. The response was phenomenal. A thousand pastors got involved. Many hundreds of volunteers showed up. Opening night happened in pouring rain, yet the 2,000 person tent was filled to overflowing. Over a thousand stood outside in the rain to hear the evangelist. Hundreds of cars were turned away because there simply wasn’t room.
Over the four days, hundreds of people were sobbing in repentance. Miraculous healings occurred. The next Great Awakening was announced. But I was disturbed in my spirit. For according to the evangelist, Jesus was waging war to save America.
Truly, increasing the Bride or saving America gets to the heart of our focus
I’ve been increasingly focused on prophecy in scripture about the times in which we are living. As you know, something over 27% of the Bible is prophecy. Jesus fulfilled many of the prophecies when He was born in Bethlehem, revealed Almighty God’s Truth and Light, and fulfilled His Call at the Cross. His blood shed for us provided forgiveness and salvation to us. He verified his Word by rising from the dead three days later.
America was founded by people seeking the religious freedom to proclaim and live by that Good News. Hebrew was seriously considered as our national language at Harvard, founded in 1636 as a school for ministers. America grew out of our Jewish and Christian roots serving the Creator of the Universe. And the Lord blessed us for that foundation.
But things changed rapidly after World War Two. Public education focused on secular humanism, evolution, and the belief that America was now modern enough to realize that we no longer needed God—that He was no longer relevant to moderate society. I grew up in the fifties. This is the public education I received. Spiritually, we were just coasting.
Everything was turned around when Israel was gathered back to her land
What the world refused to accept was that the prophetic clock for the end of the age of the Gentiles started with Israel’s birth in 1948. The church was normally oblivious, because its vast majority believed that the prophetic end was merely myth or allegory. In fact, the institutional church still believes that. Increasingly, true saving faith was pushed to the side and the church joined in the effort as America increasingly saw itself as the savior of the world. As we pushed prayer out of school, legalized abortion, welcomed eastern religion into our core, America became what Paul warned us about in the first chapter of Romans.
Beginning in verse sixteen, Paul laid out what we have all experienced since the nineteen fifties. He warned us about what happens when a nation exchanges truth for lies. Here’s the essence edited out of verses 21-25: “ (Although America) knew God, (we) did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but (we) became futile in (our) reasonings, and (our) senseless hearts were darkened. Claiming to be wise, (we) became fools, and… exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for (the reasonings and desires of corrupted mankind)… Therefore God gave (us) up to vile impurity in the lusts of their hearts, so that their bodies would be dishonored among (us). For (we) exchanged the truth of God for falsehood, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator.”
He finished the chapter with verses 28-32, which I again edit: “as (we) did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave (the United States) up to a depraved mind, to do those things that are not proper, (with our people…) filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, and evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, and malice; (our people are now) gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, without understanding, untrustworthy, unfeeling, and unmerciful; and although (we knew) the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, (we) not only do the same, but also approve of those who practice them.” I have watched as my country has increasingly shaken its collective fist at God, absolutely defying Him.
To get back to my originally stated focus, I agree with David Reagan, founder of Lamb and Lion Ministries that the United States has passed the point of no return. As the age of the Gentiles reaches its fullness and passes into history, none of the nations will remain. Prophecy is clear that the globalists will win and take over the entire world.
So, what are we supposed to do politically?
First of all, the Lord Jesus has made it clear to me that He is not fighting to save America. Jesus is focused on the completion of His Bride —those of us who have acknowledged our sin, repented, and volunteered to serve Jesus forever. We know who Jesus is, and He has transformed our lives. We have each developed a close personal relationship with Jesus. All of us who have been born of God spend our time constantly talking to Jesus, seeking guidance, accepting His counsel, and simply having fellowship with Him and His Bride.
But the Bride is not complete, yet. How do I know that? Because when we are complete, Jesus will come, as our betrothed husband, and call us up to be with Him in the clouds. Prophecy is clear that Jesus will save us from the Wrath which is justly coming upon the satanic world system. The words used are that He will save us from — not through — God’s Wrath which is coming upon the whole earth to destroy Satan’s world system. Scripture tells us this, specifically, in strong prophetic detail. But the Father will not give Jesus to go ahead to go get His Bride until said Bride is complete. The Holy Spirit’s focus is on getting everyone saved who can be saved to make the Bride complete.
So, His focus is increasing the Bride —not saving America
This is our call in these last days, as we eagerly await His upward call.
