Empower Bible reading by asking the author for help
Empower Bible reading with the help of the author. There is a major difference between reading the Bible and asking the Lord to show you what He wants you to learn today. The Bible amazes me. But, an author guided read transforms my life—every day.
The author of the book matters much more than the book itself
Fortunately, the Bible’s author lives within you. If you haven’t tried it yet, ask the Holy Spirit [or Jesus] to teach you directly what He wants you to learn today. The written Word as a whole gives us a fantastic resource. But our minds are not capable of using it well.
Jesus made this all clear, before He left to hang on the cross. “But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, will teach you everything and remind you of all that I told you.” John 14: 26 MEV The Holy Spirit’s main mission remains teaching us everything we need to know. Plus, He will remind us what Jesus has said. He’s the reason the Gospel writers remembered so clearly.
Now you know why I love John’s Gospel so much. He wasn’t telling stories. He shared what Jesus said on a very deep level. Try reading John while asking the Holy Spirit to show you what He meant—more importantly showing you what you need today—every day.
Empowering Bible reading with the help of the Holy Spirit will transform you
This importance grows during times like these where we are in the midst of a strong time of testing. While COVID-19 ravages the world, we need to hear from the Lord directly. We always do. But while the battle rages we need a clear head, comfort, and direction.
The Lord has a plan— a personal plan of action for you. The call for prayer and repentance remains obvious. BUT, how does the Lord want you to act toward others at this time?
You need to ask Him what He wants you to be doing
