Another good restaurant in Mankato! Tandem Bagels
I remember when we moved to Albuquerque in 1980. One of the real signs that the city was still stuck back in the forties was that there were no bagels. In fact, in Albuquerque in 1980, the only bagels were Lender’s in one of the grocery stores. It was a real step up when a bakery opened with good bagels.
The same is now happening in Mankato. As we have made it into the small city level from the large town background, sophisticated, comforting restaurants with good food and good service, coupled with good visuals are arriving.
What I find really exciting is that this one is downtown. We live down here because the old town in the valley gives us the hint of mountains we need to survive. Plus, there is the look of a city and a bit (very small as yet) of cosmopolitanism.
Tandem Bagels is a real treat for Mankato
Excellent bagels, good ambiance, friendly staff— now all we need is hours into the early evening. I recommend it.
