In his priestly prayer (John 17) Jesus said that eternal life is knowing him as a married couple knows each other

He speaks to us by His holy Spirit, if we'll only listen and seek His wisdom
- it is crucial that we learn to talk with him and hear his voice consistently and constantly (Praying without ceasing as Paul writes in I Thessalonians 5:17)

The Gospel is not complex or it would not be good news to most
Nor is it easy or obtainable without concientious practice and experience
